iRead for 112 Foundation

The iRead for 112 Foundation begins this Saturday, January 7, with a kick-off at Highland Park Library.  Today, students were given the form where they will log their reading: book titles and minutes read.  Each student in fifth grade at Indian Trail is expected to read at least 30 minutes a day, for a total of 750 minutes (25 days:  1/7 - 1/31).  We discussed that the reading doesn't have to occur daily, but overall the total should be 750 minutes or more, and that this reading will be completed outside of school.  While this is a fundraiser for the 112 Foundation and donations are greatly appreciated, students and their families/friends are not required to do so.  However, they are required to read, to keep track of their forms, and to return the forms to me by Friday, February 3.  HAPPY READING!

CogAT Testing is January 10

The fifth grade will be CogAT testing on Tuesday, January 10, starting at 9:50.  We will take all nine subtests that day, so please do what you can to not schedule any appointments that day.  Make-up testing will take place later in the week.
It's not a test that can be studied for, but to allow for students to familiarize themselves with the types of questions they'll be asked to answer, we'll have some practice sessions this week.  They will be prepared!  Thanks for your support:)
