Mike Byster Visited Today!!

And it was great!!  Ask your child about it - incredible math calculations, fun with numbers, looking for and realizing patterns, memorizing a list of items by making up a story or song or poem!  His message: if it isn't working one way, try another way until you find a way that works;  it's all about focus and following directions and never giving up.  Thanks to Mrs. Belkind for arranging our assembly this morning.  It was "SUM THING AMAZING," and we'll never forget it.   If you want to know more - more cool math or memory tricks -, go to www.brainetics.com   or if you have questions contact him directly at mikebyster@cs.com

Day of Giving Donations

On December 3rd, Elm Place Middle School will be sponsoring their annual Day of Giving.  This will be a day when collected goods will be given to those in need in our own community.  Last year, Elm Place was able to help 150 to 200 local families!
Each school in the district is offering to collect goods.  The Indian Trail community is helping to collect toiletries for Elm Place's Day of Giving.  We are asking for all donations to be brought to Indian Trail by Thursday, December 1st.

DAY OF GIVING!!

Day of Giving 2016

What is it?

Day of Giving began as a food collection program and has transformed into a day where families in need can come get food, clothes, coats, books, toiletries and toys that have been donated by local community members. We began hosting the event in 2011 and were able to help provide for 12 families our first year. The next year, almost 200 families came. This past year, we were able to assist over 400 people.  Our goal is to help provide for families in need in our local community.

When is it?

This year, Day of Giving will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 6:00-9:30am.  Every year, Day of Giving is located at the Elm Place Middle School gym in Highland Park, IL.

Who is it for?

Anyone who could use assistance providing for themselves and their family.

What can I do to help?

Help us by starting to collect items. Clean out your closets! Look for food deals! Bring in toiletries, books, winter-wear, food, toys, games, etc. We take all items! Anything can help.

Start bringing in items ASAP to Elm Place School!
